PB1 and LG2 are the two bearing bronzes engineering shops use most. PB1 phosphor bronze is the stronger, harder alloy for gears and heavy loads. LG2 leaded gunmetal machines more easily and suits general bushes, valves and fittings.

Good to know
Hollow bar starts close to the finished size of a bush, which saves boring time and material.
For marine use or higher strength, aluminium bronze AB1 or AB2 is often the better choice.

Should I use PB1 or LG2?
Use PB1 for gears, worm wheels and heavily loaded bearings. Use LG2 for general bushes, valves and fittings where easy machining matters more than maximum strength.
